Please give us a short summary of your website?

We are an independent representative for Hiawatha log homes which provides log cabin kits and custom designed log homes from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To help people who have the log home dream find us!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first website. But we did start off with a log cabin blog - www.logcabininmichigan.blogspot.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Our log home is located in Northern Michigan which is home to Elk.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Having recently just completed our own Hiawatha log home, we feel uniquely qualified to assist our customers with the planning, purchasing and building of their log home.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

We want to help other log home enthusiasts realize their dream of living in a log home!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

We are just beginning and hope our marketing efforts connect us with many log home dreamers.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would have more content such as streaming videos and a live web cam of a log home being built.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Absolutely - nothing would make us happier!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None so far except the cost of the log home shows were a little pricier than I planned.

What has been your biggest challenge?

It will be the economy.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

having just launched our website, I think our established log cabin blog will drive traffic.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

So far I've had realistic expectations.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been up for 24 hours!
