Turkey Property Gems Interview

By Interviewer at 06/02/07 14:04
Name of your website?

Turkey Property Gems

Your name?

TPG

Your Location (city, etc)

Fethiye

When did you start your website and why?

Turkey Property Gems was set up by friends who has purchased property in Turkey and now have time on their hands to assist others. We at TPG have gone through the stress of purchasing a property and come out unscathed and wiser. Many of us have help people over the years purchase a property, not only have we been able to point out the hidden cost involved in the purchase process but also have been able to ensure that many have not fallen foul of the law and come away with a bank balance lighter and still no property. We at Turkey Property Gems have at times negotiated a lower price for a property advertised else where in the market.

Our re-sales property has caused a bit of a stir, in Turkey it is usual for estate agents to charge the seller 3% and the Buyer 3%. Turkey Property Gems decided to charge a flat fee on a sliding scale to the seller of £500 for properties upto £50k and £750 upto £75k etc. The buyer of a property is then either passed to an agent to start the buying process and they charge the purchaser 3% or the purchaser can use a local solicitor and pay the legal fee plus the normal purchasing cost not only making a monetary saving but also the benefit of a legal contract, not to mention the peace of mind. Why do we do this? Because we can! No, seriously, we cover our website and administration cost, we are happy and we also get to make many new friends.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

To assist purchasers in choosing the right property at the right price. Listening to their requirements and ensuring they are adhered to. When the sun is shining and the surroundings put the purchasers in a state of euphoric Sun stroke, it is easy to lose sight of the original goal.
